- The diploma course will be held from April 1 to October 17 in a hybrid format.
February 10, 2025 – The Latin American Association of Development Finance Institutions (ALIDE), in collaboration with the AFD group, announced the Diploma Course in Banking and Finance for Sustainable Development, an initiative designed to strengthen the managerial, technical and operational capacity of professionals in the financial sector with responsibilities in transformation and sustainability projects.
This program, which will run from April 1 to October 17, 2025, will develop five online modules seeking to enhance the role of financial institutions in the modernization and sustainability of development in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). The topics include the integration of ESG factors, financial digitalization, and green finance, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals.
With a theoretical-practical approach, the diploma course also includes two face-to-face activities in Colombia and France. In Medellín, inspirational sessions and experiential workshops will be held. In France, a workshop focused on human skills and community building will be held, exploring the experience of the AFD group in aligning with the Paris Agreement and the SDGs, in addition to visiting key state entities in these fields.
Through this training, participants will obtain key tools to face the challenges of sustainable development, optimize financial operations and lead innovative initiatives in their institutions.
“For more than 50 years, ALIDE has been committed to developing the capabilities of professionals who belong to the development banking community, training change agents capable of influencing the sustainable development of Latin America and the Caribbean,” said Edgardo Alvarez, Secretary General of ALIDE.
Who can participate?
The diploma course is aimed at managers, executives and leaders of financial institutions in the region. In addition, the applicant must be recognized in their institution as a change agent and contribute to the consolidation of responsible and sustainable financial institutions.
Those interested in participating in the selection process, which closes on March 7, must have a university education, a minimum of three years’ experience in development institutions and basic knowledge of English.
This training is an opportunity for participants to strengthen their professional profile, acquire specialized knowledge in banking and finance for sustainable development, and prepare themselves to face the challenges and take advantage of the opportunities offered by the transition towards a fairer and more sustainable economic model.
