BDA of Panama joined as an active member of ALIDE
- Banco de Desarrollo Agropecuario (BDA) is the main state development bank for the sustainable development of the agricultural-livestock and agro-industrial sector in Panama
February 17, 2025 – Banco de Desarrollo Agropecuario (BDA) has joined as an active member of the Latin American Association of Development Finance Institutions (ALIDE). This action strengthens regional cooperation and reaffirms the commitment of both institutions to development banking.
The bank is currently chaired by Engr. Roberto Barría Stanziola and its mission is to provide financing for agricultural-livestock development programs and agro-industrial projects, especially for micro, small and medium-sized producers.
With more than 50 years of institutional life, BDA has four strategic axes that reflect its commitment to economic growth and rural development, such as responsible resource management; strengthening of capital; direct support to producers; and optimization of the operating system.
BDA is positioned as a key institution for the agricultural-livestock development of Panama, betting on the modernization and implementation of new technologies to strengthen agricultural and livestock production in the country.
The participation of Banco de Desarrollo Agropecuario as a member of ALIDE will allow it to strengthen its ties with other institutions that promote the financing of economic, social and sustainable development in the region, such as international organizations, cooperation agencies and development banks; thus generating an exchange of knowledge and best practices.
