
ALIDE announces that its 56th General Assembly will be held in Asunción in May 2026
- The National Development Bank (Banco Nacional de Fomento – BNF) will host the event, which will focus on three key pillars for development banking: Innovate, Invest and Include.
December 11, 2025- The Latin American Association of Development Financing Institutions (ALIDE) has confirmed that its 56th General Assembly will take place from May 20 to 22, 2026, in Asunción, Paraguay, with the National Development Bank (BNF) as the host institution.
An Assembly focused on innovation, investment and inclusion
The meeting will address the theme “Innovate, Invest, Include: Development Banking Driving Inclusive and Transformative Growth in the New Global Economic Scenario”, with an approach aimed at analyzing:
- The positioning of Latin America and the Caribbean in the international economy.
- The need to accelerate productive investment to generate employment.
- The strengthening of innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystems with sustainability and inclusion.
The Assembly will also reinforce the strategic role of public development banks in a global context characterized by profound economic, technological and environmental transformations.
A space to discuss the region’s economic future
Over three days, authorities, experts and representatives of development finance institutions will discuss how to:
- Drive regional economic growth.
- Attract high-impact investment.
- Promote technology adoption and reduce structural gaps.
- Develop resilient infrastructure in the face of climate change.
- Modernize strategic sectors through public–private partnerships and innovative financial instruments.
The event will include the presentation of the ALIDE 2026 Awards, the recognition of the Bank of the Year, as well as various parallel activities focused on topics such as capital markets, climate finance, digital transformation, bioeconomy and other priority areas for sustainable development.
ALIDE’s General Assembly is the main forum for development banking in Latin America and the Caribbean, recognized for promoting initiatives and alliances that foster more inclusive, sustainable and competitive growth in the region.
