Invitation 48 ALIDE General Assembly

We have the pleasure of inviting you to participate in the Forty-eighth Meeting of the General Assembly of the Latin American Association of Development Financing Institutions (ALIDE 48), which will be held in the Swissôtel Convention Center in Lima, Peru, from Wednesday, May 30th to Friday, June 1st, 2018 with the collaboration and sponsorship of the Peruvian ALIDE member institutions.

As its key topic, ALIDE 48 will analyze “Development Banking Challenges of the Present and of the Future” through presentations by prominent members of the international and Latin American financial communities, with a view to discussing crucial aspects and development banking action in regard to three main issues: 1) artificial intelligence and digital transformation in production processes and the financial sector in the context of productive change in the region; 2) the resilience of cities to extreme events and economic and social resilience to crises; and 3) the financial inclusion of projects, enterprises and territories, in keeping with the need to move ahead with economic and productive decentralization processes. In the Session on Institutional Matters, representatives of the ALIDE Member Institutions will express their opinions on matters inherent to the Association, such as the Annual Report and the Financial Statements for 2017, the Work Program for 2018-2019 and the Budget for fiscal 2018, the election of the ALIDE Executive Committee for 2018-2020, and the venue for the next General Assembly. The ALIDE 2018 Prizes will also be granted and the Bank of the Year 2018 award will be presented in that session.

Various Workshops will be held in the course of ALIDE 48 to look into issues of current importance in the financing and promotion of economic and social sectors: agriculture, micro and small enterprise, housing, infrastructure, environmental sustainability and climate change, and projects and investments.

A Bilateral Interviews office will be at the service of participants to arrange for meetings with high-level Latin American banking executives and those of other regions attending the ALIDE General Assembly, in order to further the promotion of financial, business and cooperative relations. In addition, several social events are scheduled to make it possible to converse in a friendly environment and a special program has been prepared for persons accompanying the participants, who will be able to enjoy Lima’s numerous attractions.
