- The 53rd Meeting of ALIDE will be held in Honduras at the invitation of Banco Hondureño para la Producción y la Vivienda (BANHPROVI).
October 24 2022- The Executive Committee of the Latin American Association of Development Financing Institutions (ALIDE) approved Banco Hondureño para la Producción y la Vivienda (BANHPROVI)’s proposal that its country serve as the venue for next year’s annual meeting of Latin American development banks, the 2023 Annual Meeting of the ALIDE General Assembly.
The site of the event was confirmed after an exchange of official notes following talks held by ALIDE and Banhprovi.
“We are pleased to be able to offer an opportunity to strengthen ALIDE’s presence in Central America, given that the association is one of the most important continental banking and financial forums for the region’s socioeconomic development,” stated Edwin Araque, Executive President of Banhprovi.
“We are certain that with Banhprovi’s collaboration, we will once again hold a successful annual meeting and be able to address topics of interest to Honduras, the Central American region and Latin America and the Caribbean as a whole,” declared Edgardo Alvarez, ALIDE’s Secretary General.
Banhprovi has set up a national liaison committee for the organization of ALIDE 2023, headed by Edwin Araque, with José Arnoldo Sermeño Lima, Manager, and Gabriela Chinchilla, Deputy Business Manager of the Honduran financial institution, as the liaison officers.
It should be stressed that ALIDE’s General Assembly is traditionally held in May and that its 53rd Assembly will take place in 2023.

Regarding ALIDE’s General Assembly
Over the past 50 years, the General Assembly has held regular and special meetings that constitute important hemispheric forums for the analysis of topics of current interest having to do with the activities of the institutions that finance development in Latin America and the Caribbean. These forums congregate an average of 300 high-level executives from the principal institutions engaged in financing and promoting the region’s development.
ALIDE is the community of financial institutions that generates banking solutions for the development of Latin America and the Caribbean. Founded in 1968, its main objective is to contribute to the economic and social development of the region, through the good practices in development financing that it promotes among its associates, about 90 institutions with a presence in more than 20 Latin American countries and other regions of the world.
We are a financial institution that contributes to the country’s socioeconomic and environmental development and to the improvement of the Honduran people’s quality of life with a gender-oriented approach, by providing “tailor-made financial products and services” and technical assistance, with emphasis on the production, environmental and marginalized sectors of the economy. Our vision is to serve as a regional point of reference as a profitable, sound, and modern development bank that boosts Honduras’ competitiveness, job creation and economic activities
