ALIDE participates in the RENAC 2022 Green Banking Delegation Tour

  • The Green Banking Program will officially close on November 24 with a Talk about Peru’s Alumini Network.

October 27, 2022- The Latin American Association of Development Financing Institutions (ALIDE) participated in the Green Banking Delegation Tour of RENAC 2022, an event that was part of the conclusion of the Green Banking Program – Capacity Building in Green Energy and Climate Finance, a fellowship program designed for banking professionals.

The event, held in Germany from September 26 to 30, presented the financial cooperation policies and instruments for supporting the transformation process and the use of investment funds sponsored by KfW – German Development Bank and DEG – Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft. It also revealed details of the International Climate Protection Iniciative – IKI, an important element of the German government’s international financial climate commitments.

During their stay in Germany, the Green Banking Program Delegation paid a visit to Feldheim, an energetically self-sustaining German villa that produces its own energy and heating by using aeolic generators, solar panels and biogas.

Participating in the Green Banking Delegation Tour of RENAC 2022 were officials of banks and financial institutions of Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Peru.

Economist Jorge Montesinos, Head of ALIDE’s Training and Cooperation Program, the RENAC program counterpart for development banks, represented the Association.

It should be added that the Green Banking Program –Capacity Building in Green Energy and Climate Finance will officially close on November 24 at ALIDE’s headquarters in Lima with a Talk about Peru’s Alumini Network.

What is the Green Banking Program – Capacity Building in Green Energy and Climate Finance?

It is a fellowship program under the International Climate Protection Initiative (IKI). The Renewables Academy AG (RENAC) is responsible for carrying out the program, which teaches capacity building in the financing of renewable energy and energy efficiency.

This program is designed for professionals working in the financial sectors of the target countries: Peru, Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala
