ALIDE General Assembly approves election of a new Executive Committee
- The purpose of the Executive Committee will be to lead and guide the Association’s activities during the period 2021-2023.
May 26, 2021- The Latin American Association of Development Financing Institutions (Alide) elected its new Executive Committee. Within the framework of the 51st ALIDE General Assembly and in accordance with the Association’s institutional body of law, the members approved a new Council to govern its activities for the period 2021-2023.
The new Executive Council is made up of Carlos Linares, President of the Corporación Financiera de Desarrollo de Perú (Cofide), who will occupy the position of President; Sergio Gusmão, President and Director of the Banco de Desenvolvimento de Minas Gerais (BDMG); and María Jeannette Ruiz, President of the Banco Nacional de Costa Rica, were elected as Vice-Presidents.
The ALIDE Directors chosen are Chesron D.A. Isidora, Executive Director of the Curaçao Development Corporation (Korpodeko); Sandra Gómez, President of the Financiera de Desarrollo Territorial (Findeter), of Colombia; Juan Pablo de Botton Falcón, Director General of Nafin/Bancomext, of Mexico; and Juan Cuattromo, President of the Banco de la Provincia de Buenos Aires (BAPRO), Argentina. Edgardo Alvarez Chávez was ratified in the position of Secretary General.
The Executive Council is the institutional body responsible for leading and guiding ALIDE’s activities. It is made up of the top executives of member institutions, who represent it appropriately both geographically and institutionally.
ALIDE is the community of financial institutions that generates banking solutions for the development of Latin America and the Caribbean. Founded in 1968, its main objective is to contribute to the economic and social development of the region, through the good practices in development financing that it promotes among its associates, about 90 institutions with a presence in more than 20 Latin American countries and other regions of the world.
