ALIDE and AIS collaborate in digitalizing Development Banks

  • Alliance between institutions offers a series of specialized courses and webinars on the latest trends in banking digital transformation.

February 25.- Advances in digital technology affect development bank modii operandi by acting on their customer relations, competitiveness, and data administration, among other aspects. The advent of the COVID-19 crisis made implementation of these processes a matter of the greatest urgency, in order to be able to guarantee the continuity of service to and support for the production and social sectors.

It is in this context that ALIDE and Spain’s Aplicaciones de Inteligencia Artificial (AIS) decided to collaborate on Latin American development bank digitalization and to that end will offer specialized courses and webinars dealing with trends in digital transformation. The purpose of this plan of activities is to coach institutions in their adjustment to the change.

“Digital transformation offers competitiveness and a unique opportunity to repurpose enterprises. It involves preparing an organization’s structures for continuous and efficient innovation in order to bring it closer to future customers by achieving digital proximity,” ALIDE’s Training Chief, Jorge Montesinos, points out.

An evaluation is underway of the topics to be covered in those activities, like big data and machine learning, and of structures to be created for project finance and loan portfolio collection processes. The ALIDE-AIS plan of activities will be implemented by means of courses to be taught and webinars and presentations to be offered by AIS experts at Association events.

The alliance between ALIDE and AIS to devise a plan of digitalization activities was recently defined at a virtual meeting in which the participants were, for AIS, Jose Manuel Aguirre, Commercial Director; Daniel Torrents, Business Development; and David Fernández, AIS Argentina; and for ALIDE, Romy Calderón and Jorge Montesinos, Heads of Economic Studies and Training, respectively.
