Banco do Nordeste do Brasil was recognized with the Agrobanco 2017 Award
December 2017.- Banco do Nordeste do Brasil (BNB) was recognized with the Agrobanco 2017 Award “Carlos Garatea Yori”, a distinction given by Banco Agropecuario (Agrobanco) of Peru and ALIDE to the development banks that promote innovation and good practices in the farming sector.
The Brazilian bank received the award for its product “Agroamigo Movil, a Tool for Financial Inclusion and Integration”. It is an application that allows to digitize the processes for granting credit, fostering productivity gains, increasing the number of farmers served and reducing the amount of time for granting the credit.
The award was granted by Jane Montero Aranda, president of Agrobanco and Edgardo Alvarez, general secretary of ALIDE, during a ceremony held at the headquarters of the Association. BNB’s authorities participated online in the ceremony and the presentation of the wining product was conducted by Alex Araujo, superintendent of Microfinance and Family Agriculture at Banco do Nordeste.
At the ceremony were present the family of Carlos Garatea Yori, who was ALIDE’s general secretary for more than 20 years, as well as president and director of Agrobanco.
