Nos es grato compartirle más abajo la invitación de la Agencia Francesa de Desarrollo –distinguida institución miembro adherente de ALIDE— a participar en The Water Finance Coalition, lanzada a partir de Finance in Common Summit, iniciativa orientada a mejorar el financiamiento del agua y saneamiento a fin de alcanzar el Objetivo de Desarrollo Sostenible 6, las metas del Acuerdo de Paris y contribuir a la protección de la biodiversidad. The Agence Française de Développement (AFD) is pleased to inform you about the launch of the Water Finance Coalition.

This initiative will gather international and domestic public development banks, sharing the aim to improve the financing of water & sanitation in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goal 6, the Paris agreement goals and to contribute to biodiversity protection.

A call for action towards a Water finance Coalition has been jointly launched by AFD, CAF, EIB, the World Bank in the framework of the Finance in Common Summit, held in November 2020. In order to build such a Water Finance Coalition, a working group will gather international and domestic public development banks, starting in February 2021.

We are very happy to invite Public Development Banks to participate to this initiative, and to our first virtual meeting which will take place on 4th February 2021 at 4pm CET.

Please find enclosed the Water Finance Coalition’s draft roadmap and the indicative agenda for our first meeting.
