ALIDE renews cooperation agreement with AFD of France until 2023

    • This agreement will allow to continue promoting initiatives with a focus on environmental sustainability and social inclusion.

    November 25, 2021- The Latin American Association of Development Financing Institutions (ALIDE) and the French Development Agency (AFD) renewed their strategic and financial cooperation agreement for the period 2021-2023.

    The signing of this agreement will allow ALIDE to carry out new activities aimed at strengthening the participation of Latin American development banks in financing to combat climate change, aligning financial flows in accordance with the objectives of the Paris Agreement on the climate, social investment, and accompaniment to the Finance in Common movement. Said activities will include training courses, technical meetings and research documents, among others.

    The renewal of the agreement was signed by the general secretary of ALIDE, Edgardo Alvarez, and the head of the AFD Representative Office in Peru, Laurent Pacoud. It should be noted that the first time that both institutions signed a strategic cooperation and financing agreement was in 2018, after they signed a memorandum of understanding in 2017 to start joint activities.
