ALIDE inaugurated the Business Intelligence and Big Data webinar

    • The first session was attended by representatives of GINNOVATES, the National Bank and AIS Group.

    December 15, 2021-The Latin American Association of Development of Financing Institutions (ALIDE) inaugurated the Business Intelligence (BI) and Big Data seminar: Strategies to promote development banking.

    The event will take place over three days and aims for participants to learn about BI and Big Data solutions that are transforming organizations and fostering data-driven cultures with practical advice, process improvement and benchmark stories in banking.

    At the beginning of the seminar, there was a presentation by the expert consultant in data solutions and founder of GINNOVATES, Jaime Rendón Hernández, who shared his experience on the challenges of preparing and implementing data culture in institutions.

    Rendón Hernández highlighted that in order to develop resilience with a data culture in financial institutions, it is important to question the established processes to optimize them for the benefit of our clients. He also added that it is important to empower employees and teams with data, in order to generate trust in the data system.

    For his part, the Director of Data Management and Analytics of the National Bank of Costa Rica, José Luis Jiménez Matarrita, explained the importance of data protection and the implementation of Business Intelligence (BI) and Business Analytics strategies (BA) from his experience in his institution.

    Jiménez Matarrita stressed the importance of protecting data from all types of attacks to maintain customer trust. In addition, he pointed out that the information stored by the National Bank is used for various types of analysis that includes using it in commercial strategies and to measure different types of risks.

    The session also featured a round table to answer questions and clarify ideas. This part of the event had the participation of Javier Rodríguez, ALIDE’s Head of Technical Assistance, and Leandro Fernández, General Manager of Chile at AIS Group.
