ALIDE developed a seminar to promote inclusive agricultural business models

    • The event focused on sharing experiences on financial inclusion and the application of technologies in the agricultural sector.

November 29, 2021- The Latin American Association of Development Financing Institutions (ALIDE) developed the online seminar Inclusive Agricultural Business Models: How to create value from new technologies?

This three-day event aimed to share relevant experiences and show the importance of financial inclusion, innovations and support for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises linked to the agricultural sector.

During the first session, the speakers were representatives of Trusts Instituted in Relation to Agriculture (FIRA), the National Bank and the Institute for Agricultural Development (INDAP), institutions dedicated to promoting economic development and the inclusion of agricultural producers through financial investment, training and application of technology.

The second day was attended by members of the International Agricultural Bioscience Center (CABI), who shared their international experiences on the use of technology as a tool to improve food systems in agricultural environments and increase the capacity of businesses to generate scalability, sustainability and impact in your sector.

The InspiraFarms venture was also presented, a company that works in Africa to improve cold chains in agricultural environments with the focus of reducing environmental impact.

The last session presented on the challenges of the agricultural sector and the proposals of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) to face them with new digital technologies. In addition, the CREA model was analyzed, a network that allows agricultural experimentation in Argentina and that works with enterprises based on innovation and technology.

It should be noted that during the seminar there was an active participation of the listeners, who were able to consult the speakers and comment on their opinions, which allowed to stimulate and complement the ideas during the presentations.
