Transportation

On arrival in Rio, participants will be given transportation from the Airport to Windsor Barra Hotel and vice versa, as well as to official acts. Participants must enter their arrival and departure date, time and flight number in the Registration Form.


Transportation Company: ICONE Eventos may also advise participants in the supply of airline tickets at preferential prices, as well as pre and post event tourist options.

The lectures, the final list of participants and the report with the conclusions of the meetings will be published at ALIDE web page: www.alide.org

Languages

Spanish, English and Portuguese will be the official languages of the Meeting and simultaneous interpretation into those languages will be available at the plenary sessions.

Social Program

BNDES will offer for the participants and their companions, a social program which will include cultural, social and tourist activities.

Currency

Brazilian official currency is the Real (R$).. At February 22, 2016, the exchange rate was R$3.96 reales per US Dollar.

Dress code

Formal wear is required for the plenary, opening and closing sessions.

Immigration

Participants are recommended to consult the Brazilian Embassies and Consulates in their respective countries, as to the applicable specific matters, especially regarding the need to obtain entry visas, vaccines, etc.

Location, climate and others

Rio de Janeiro, is located in the Atlantic coast of the southeast region of Brazil. It has a privileged geographical position, with wide and beautiful beaches and amazing mountains that make of the city a spectacular venue. It is known as the “wonderful city”, Río de Janeiro is a perfect combination of pleasant weather, beautiful landscapes, happy people who are hospitable and affectionate with the visitor, music and happiness. The visitor immediately feels that Rio de Janeiro is possibly one of the most beautiful cities of the world. Thanks to its different facets, Rio de Janeiro has the highest international tourism traffic of the country and is the first Olympic city of South America.

The city has a broad night life. In the neighborhoods of Lapa and Santa Teresa we can find typical bars located in old and adapted houses, where we can enjoy the rhythms of the bossa nova and samba provided by the orchestras to the visitors. Other more sophisticated places such as discotheques and night clubs are located in the zones of Ipanema, Leblon, Gavea and Barra da Tijuca.

The average temperature during the year is around 27 ºC. In May, the temperature varies between 18° and 25°C.

PLACE AND DATE OF THE MEETING
The Forty-sixth Ordinary Meeting of the ALIDE General Assembly, will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from Wednesday to Friday, May 18 to 20, 2016. The venue of the meeting will be at the Convention Center of the Windsor Barra Hotel, located on Lucio Costa Avenue 2630, Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
