The Declaration of Fortaleza was presented on Friday 17, during the closing ceremony of the 54th<\/sup> Annual Meeting of ALIDE, held at the headquarters of\u00a0Banco Do Nordeste (BNB)<\/a>. The letter of commitments began with an expression of solidarity with the population of Rio Grande do Sul due to the environmental disaster that is devastating the state.<\/p>\n

The strategies set forth in the declaration seek to meet the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The institutions linked to ALIDE are committed to integrating environmental and social criteria into their financial operations, promoting sustainable projects with high economic impact.<\/p>\n

The document highlights the commitment to strengthen support for productive sectors to improve local macroeconomic conditions, such as debt levels and interest rates. In addition, the institutions are committed to facilitating the social and financial inclusion of indigenous communities, young entrepreneurs, the elderly and projects led by women.<\/p>\n

\u00abBanco do Nordeste and the other institutions linked to ALIDE have reinforced their social and economic development objectives for each country and region. We have great challenges, but we are investing to bring quality credit to all sectors, generating jobs and income for the population\u00bb, said BNB president Paulo C\u00e2mara.<\/p>\n

Other commitments include the expansion of resources for basic, technical and business education, especially for micro and small enterprises. ALIDE member banks are also committed to expanding the digitization of financial services to increase productivity and efficiency in local economies. The 54th<\/sup> Annual Meeting of ALIDE lasted three days and brought together more than 250 people from 26 countries. The event featured workshops, panels and lectures that addressed topics such as financial and social inclusion, reduced regional inequalities, infrastructure financing, sustainability and innovation. The meeting was co-organized by ALIDE and BNB, with the support of\u00a0BNDES<\/a>, the\u00a0Government of Cear\u00e1<\/a>,\u00a0IDB<\/a>,\u00a0SP Global<\/a> and\u00a0Entrepay<\/a>.
