Fabrary 7, 2018.-\u00a0<\/strong><\/strong>We have the pleasure of inviting you to participate in the Latin American Meeting on International Business and Investment Finance and Promotion being organized by Mexico\u2019s Banco Nacional de Comercio Exterior-BANCOMEXT and the Latin American Association of Development Financing Institutions\u2013ALIDE. The meeting is to be held at the Camino Real Polanco Hotel Convention Center in Mexico City on Wednesday and Thursday, April 11 and 12, 2018.<\/p>\n

The complex global economic situation poses a challenge to the positioning of Latin American and Caribbean trade and acts as a restraint on the region\u2019s sustained growth. The meeting will address the current international economic challenges and the financing strategies and mechanisms that promote entrepreneurial development and productivity by internationalizing SMEs, with an emphasis on financial cooperation between the region\u2019s countries and development financing institutions for purposes of business transactions and joint investments within the framework of international and intraregional integration and trade, and by ensuring the environmental sustainability of export development and international business.<\/p>\n

These issues will be analyzed by sharing criteria and successful experiences regarding five main aspects: 1) the existing situation of international trade and the economy and the challenges arising from Latin America and the Caribbean\u2019s trade placement; 2) Latin American foreign trade financing strategies and mechanisms and the role of development banks; 3) SME export development; 4) financial cooperation and business development between development financing institutions and commercial banks; and 5) the environmental sustainability dimension in export development.
