css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1694798269049{margin-top: 10px !important;margin-bottom: -5px !important;border-top-width: 25px !important;border-bottom-width: 5px !important;padding-bottom: 28px !important;}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>ALIDE and the IDB participate in opening and closing sessions of the event, emphasizing <\/em><em>the Group\u2019s most important accomplishments as of its launching in 2019<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text 0=&#8221;&#8221;]<span style=\"color: #009de5;\"><strong>July 24, 2023- <\/strong><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.alide.org.pe\/\">The Latin American Association of Development Financing Institutions (ALIDE)<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iadb.org\/es\">the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB)<\/a> jointly organized the <a href=\"https:\/\/grupoapps.org\/\">Fifth Annual Meeting of the Regional PPP Development group<\/a> that was held on July 20 in Panama City.<\/p>\n<p>During the event, a presentation was made of the events carried out by the Group over the previous five years and those planned for 2023-2024.\u00a0 The importance of National Infrastructure Platforms (NIPs) \u00a0was discussed as a tool for attracting private investment in sustainable infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>The IDB Manager for Development Finance Institutions,\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iadb.org\/es\/acerca-del-bid\/departamentos\/biografias\/susana-cordeiro-guerra\">Susana Cordeiro<\/a>, pointed out that the IDB and, in general, all of the institutions need to create links between the public and private institutions and to work together on a systematic basis.<\/p>\n<p>Romy Calder\u00f3n, Head of Economic Studies and Information of ALIDE, for his part, underscored the fact that \u201cthe projects carried out under the PPP system make it possible to develop the most needy towns by providing necessary public utilities like water and sanitation services, and education, among others, to low-income dwellers, thereby enhancing their possibilities for development.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Present at the event were regional Public Development Banks (PDBs) like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bancomext.com\/\"><u>Bancomext<\/u><\/a> (Mexico), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bice.com.ar\/\">BICE<\/a> (Argentina), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.corfo.cl\/\">Corfo<\/a> (Chile), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fdn.com.co\/\">FDN<\/a> (Colombia), and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.caixa.gov.br\/Paginas\/home-caixa.aspx\">Caixa Econ\u00f3mica Federal<\/a> (Brazil), which shared a roundtable, where they described their experiences with Public-Private Partnerships, with a view to sharing knowledge and best practices.<\/p>\n<p>The roundtable also made it possible to present ideas about the role of PDBs in the development of financial strategies for structuring and financing PPPs and how best to improve and reinforce the collaboration between Multilateral Development Banks and PDBs, in order to raise private financing and sustainable infrastructure through Public-Private Partnerships.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row 0=&#8221;&#8221;][vc_column parallax=&#8221;content-moving&#8221;
