css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1688407240126{margin-bottom: 20px !important;border-top-width: -5px !important;border-bottom-width: 25px !important;}&#8221;][vc_column_text 0=&#8221;&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1688407251654{margin-top: 10px !important;margin-bottom: -5px !important;border-top-width: 25px !important;border-bottom-width: 5px !important;padding-bottom: 28px !important;}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>The CDB participated as a new member in the 53<sup>rd<\/sup> ALIDE General Assembly in Honduras.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text 0=&#8221;&#8221;]<span style=\"color: #009de5;\"><strong>June 14, 2023- <\/strong><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.caribank.org\/\">Caribbean Development Bank<\/a> joined as an adherent member of the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.alide.org.pe\/\"> Latin American Association of Development Financing Institutions \u2013 ALIDE<\/a>\u00a0with the purpose of contributing to the integration and economic and social growth of Latin America and the Caribbean.<\/p>\n<p>The incorporation of Caribbean Development Bank into ALIDE will also contribute to the financial collaboration and exchange of knowledge and experience among the development finance institutions in Latin America and the Caribbean.<\/p>\n<p>\u00abWe are excited about this opportunity and moving forward with the development of the region, hand in hand with ALIDE\u00bb, highlighted\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.caribank.org\/about-us\/bank-organisation\/president\">Dr. Hyginus \u2018Gene\u2019 Leon<\/a>, President of the CDB since May 4, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>With the participation of the CDB in ALIDE, the presence of the Association in the Caribbean will be greatly strengthened together with other members such as<a href=\"https:\/\/korpodeko.cw\/contact-us\/\">\u00a0Korpodeko<\/a>, AIB,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dfcbelize.org\/\">DFC Belize\u00a0<\/a>and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/caricom.org\/institutions\/caricom-development-fund-cdf\/\">Caricom Development Fund<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It should be noted that, as a new member of the Association, the multilateral organization participated in the 53<sup>rd<\/sup> ALIDE General Assembly that was held from May 31 to June 2 in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.<\/p>\n<p>To that effect, the Secretary General of ALIDE, Edgardo Alvarez, highlighted the presence of the President of the CDB in the First Plenary Session \u201cRole of Public Policies to Attract World-Class Investors and the role of Development Banks.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was a great honor to have the valuable participation of president Gene Le\u00f3n in the ALIDE Assembly and his vision to promote development,\u201d said Alvarez.<\/p>\n<p>The Caribbean Development Bank was founded on October 18, 1969, with the purpose of reducing inequality and extreme poverty in the Caribbean, by supporting inclusive and sustainable growth and promoting good governance.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.alide.org.pe\/\">One of the main programs of the CDB is the \u201cSpecial Development Fund\u201d, which is used to address the challenges of poverty and human development throughout the Caribbean region.<\/a>[\/vc_column_text][vc_video link=&#8221;https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=uZj5OVfM_Kc&#8221;][vc_column_text 0=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>On June 20, 2023,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.caribank.org\/newsroom\/news-and-events\/53rd-annual-meeting-opening-ceremony\"> the opening ceremony<\/a>\u00a0of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.caribank.org\/newsroom\/news-and-events\/53rd-annual-meeting-board-governors#:~:text=The%2053rd%20Annual%20Meeting%20of,virtual%20seminar%20in%20April%202023.\">53<sup>rd<\/sup> Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors\u00a0<\/a>of the CDB was held in Saint Lucia.<\/p>\n<p>This meeting brought together the members of the highest decision-making body of the Caribbean Development Bank until June 23 to discuss the main development challenges faced by the Region and discuss innovative solutions.<\/p>\n<p>The central theme this year was \u201cMarshalling Finance for Development: Access to Adequate and Affordable Financing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition, it aimed to address sustainable financial solutions for regional development, and greater inclusion of private sector partners are high on the agenda.[\/vc_column_text][vc_video link=&#8221;https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=7KPK86cP5eo&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row 0=&#8221;&#8221;][vc_column parallax=&#8221;content-moving&#8221;
