css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1688405575572{margin-bottom: 20px !important;border-top-width: -5px !important;border-bottom-width: 25px !important;}&#8221;][vc_column_text 0=&#8221;&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1688405604711{margin-top: 10px !important;margin-bottom: -5px !important;border-top-width: 25px !important;border-bottom-width: 5px !important;padding-bottom: 28px !important;}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>On the first day of the event, the first plenary session, the workshop on sustainable food systems and the signing of the UNIDO \u2013 ALIDE joint declaration took place.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text 0=&#8221;&#8221;]<span style=\"color: #009de5;\"><strong>May 31, 2023- <\/strong><\/span>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/asambleaalide.org\/Asambleas\/alide_53\/\">53<sup>rd<\/sup> ALIDE General Assembly<\/a>\u00a0organized by the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.alide.org.pe\/alide\/\"> Latin American Association of Development Financing Institutions (ALIDE)<\/a>\u00a0and <a href=\"https:\/\/banhprovi.gob.hn\/\">Banco Hondure\u00f1o para la Producci\u00f3n y la Vivienda (BANHPROVI)<\/a>\u00a0was inaugurated in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, and was attended by nearly 200 representatives of development banks worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>The annual meeting began with the opening session where the President of ALIDE, Luis Antonio Ram\u00edrez, emphasized the importance of promoting regional integration and strengthening cooperation between countries and financial institutions.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, President Ram\u00edrez highlighted the relevance of strengthening the role of development banks in economic reactivation and progress towards sustainable development.<\/p>\n<p>At the opening, the President of Honduras, Xiomara Castro, participated virtually; and the Minister of Tourism of Honduras, Yadira G\u00f3mez; the Secretary General of ALIDE, Edgardo Alvarez; the President of BANHPROVI and Director of ALIDE, Edwin Araque, and the CEO of<a href=\"https:\/\/korpodeko.cw\/\">\u00a0Korpodeko<\/a> and Vice President of ALIDE, Chesron Isidora, participated in person.<\/p>\n<p>And during the first plenary session on the \u201cRole of public policies to attract world-class investors and the role of development banking\u201d, the main challenges faced by development banks in Latin America and the Caribbean in the new global context were identified.<\/p>\n<p>The importance of public policies and sustainable technologies for economic recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic was also discussed.<\/p>\n<p>The first day of the event continued with the \u201cSustainable food systems and financial inclusion of small-scale agriculture\u201d workshop, which featured a keynote presentation by the chief economist of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fao.org\/home\/es\">Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations<\/a>\u00a0(FAO), M\u00e1ximo Torero.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the director general of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fira.gob.mx\/\">FIRA<\/a>, Alan Elizondo; the manager of the BROU Economy Advisory, Lorena S\u00e1nchez, among other specialists from the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iadb.org\/es\"> Inter-American Development Bank (IDB)<\/a>\u00a0and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bcie.org\/\">Banco Centroamericano de la Integraci\u00f3n Econ\u00f3mica (BCIE)<\/a> were as panelists.[\/vc_column_text][vc_images_carousel images=&#8221;25719,25707&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1685599385533{margin-bottom: -5px !important;}&#8221;][vc_column_text 0=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #009de5;\"><b>UNIDO \u2013 ALIDE Joint Declaration<\/b><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>On the first day of the assembly, the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unido.org\/\"> United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO)<\/a>\u00a0and ALIDE signed a<a href=\"https:\/\/www.alide.org.pe\/onudi-y-alide-firmaron-declaracion-conjunta\/\"> joint declaration<\/a>\u00a0with the aim of joining efforts to promote sustainable industrial development in the region.<\/p>\n<p>This agreement was signed by Gerd M\u00fcller, Director General of UNIDO, and Edgardo Alvarez, Secretary General of ALIDE, to promote the transfer of knowledge, experience, technologies and economic resources.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBoth of our organizations are closely linked in a great objective;
