css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1673983798509{margin-bottom: 20px !important;border-bottom-width: 25px !important;}&#8221;][vc_column_text 0=&#8221;&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1673983841041{margin-top: 10px !important;margin-bottom: -5px !important;border-top-width: 25px !important;border-bottom-width: 5px !important;padding-bottom: 28px !important;}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Event reveals the challenges and opportunities offered by the PPP market and demonstrates the Group\u2019s initiatives underway in the region.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text 0=&#8221;&#8221;]<span style=\"color: #009de5;\"><strong>November 16, 2022- <\/strong><\/span>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.alide.org.pe\/alide\/\">Latin American Association of Development Financing Institutions (ALIDE)<\/a>\u00a0participated in the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.alide.org.pe\/3a-reunion-anual-del-grupo-regional-de-bancos-publicos-para-el-desarrollo-de-apps\/\">\u00a04th Annual<\/a><u> <\/u>Meeting of the Regional Group of Public Banks for the Development of Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), which centered on the \u201cChallenges and Opportunities in the Latin American and Caribbean PPP Market.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the course of the event organized by the PPP Regional Group promoted by the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iadb.org\/es\"> Inter-American Development Bank (IDB)<\/a>\u00a0and ALIDE, the principal findings of the <a href=\"https:\/\/impact.economist.com\/projects\/infrascope\">Infrascopio<\/a> 2022 report were reviewed, information was exchanged about the green hydrogen sector in the region and details of the <a href=\"https:\/\/latamprojectshub.org\/\">Latam Projects Hub<\/a><u> <\/u>digital infrastructure platform were shared.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are of the opinion that public development banking can play a leading role in improving the structuring and financial viability of PPP projects,\u201d asserted Juan Mart\u00ednez, PPP Regional Development Group coordinator.<\/p>\n<p>Mart\u00ednez went on to add that the group coordinated by the IDB and ALIDE could make a basic contribution in support of the development banking system with a view to promoting the creation of more and better public-private partnerships in the region.<\/p>\n<p>Romy Calder\u00f3n, ALIDE Head of Economic Studies, for his part, referred to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/hubdebanca.alide.org\/\"> Development Banking HUB <\/a>\u00a0and pointed out that platforms of that kind seek to reinforce aspects needing improvement in the Latin American and Caribbean region by means of training opportunities and the exchange of knowledge and experiences.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe platform is intended basically for your (the institutions) use in sharing information, in operating as active members,\u201d stated the ALIDE expert, underscoring the fact that that the importance of the HUB lies in its driving force for producing interaction among the members and in the benefit they can gain from it.[\/vc_column_text][vc_video link=&#8221;https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=OGVVJ6K0d7Y&amp;t=1s&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1669136939663{margin-bottom: -5px !important;border-bottom-width: -5px !important;}&#8221;][vc_column_text 0=&#8221;&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1673983931751{margin-top: -10px !important;border-top-width: -5px !important;}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #009de5;\">What is the Regional PPP Group?<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>The Regional\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/grupoapps.org\/quienes-somos\/#mision\">Public-Private Partnership <\/a>(PPP) Development Group is an initiative of the Latin American Association of Development Financing Institutions (ALIDE) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), for the purpose of fostering the institutional strengthening of Public Development Banks (PDBs) in Structuring and Financing Public-Private Partnerships.<\/p>\n<p>It emerged in response to the need for investment in the region\u2019s infrastructure and the possible potential of National Development Banks (NDBs) for attracting private funds with which to promote new infrastructure investments.<\/p>\n<p>It also offers a vehicle whereby National Development Banks can share experiences and build up their technical and operational capacities for structuring and financing public-private partnerships.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row 0=&#8221;&#8221;][vc_column parallax=&#8221;content-moving&#8221;
