This is an objective of global interest that should have the active participation of development banks and private banks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the workshop, <strong>the consultants of SURECO &amp; Partners, Cristina Cox y Gloria Zarazua<\/strong>, presented the &#8220;Environmental and Social Safeguards Guide&#8221; and the &#8220;Gender Guide&#8221; as an important tool to orient the actions of public and private institutions, who wish to be accredited with GCF.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For its part, <strong>SURECO &amp; Partners CEO, Jessica Jacob<\/strong>, highlighted the Readiness Project\u2019s achievements and said that although the work of the program focused on <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Argentina, Cuba, Guatemala, Paraguay, Dominican Republic and Uruguay, had a regional opening for more Latin American countries could participate in the results of the consultancy.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_video link=&#8221;https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=B1y-JDl0haM&#8221;][vc_column_text 0=&#8221;&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1665434559983{border-top-width: -2px !important;}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h4><strong><span style=\"color: #009de5;\">What is the Readiness Project?<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s a regional project that seeks to convert the (individual) efforts of banks into coordinated initiatives in the financial sector that increase the number of accredited entities and the number of projects proposed in line with the countries&#8217; climate policies and frameworks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In December 2020 the regional readiness project &#8220;Enhancing Climate Finance and Investment in LAC Banking Sector&#8221; was approved, presented to the Green Climate Fund (GCF) by a group of 6 countries: Argentina, Cuba, Guatemala, Paraguay, the Dominican Republic, and Uruguay. who decided to collaborate with the Latin American Association of Financial Institutions for Development (ALIDE), delivery partner of the project.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Readiness in development banking seeks:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Facilitate<\/strong> the process for Development Banks (DBs) to become GCF accredited entities.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Improve<\/strong> the characterization of climate portfolios and the status of environmental and social policies and safeguards.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Identify<\/strong> investments opportunities<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Provide<\/strong> technical assistance to identify and support gap assessment; develop a climate action plan; and prepare guidance documents for environmental and social policies\/safeguards, adjusting them to the needs of the entities.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Coordinate<\/strong> the access of the information to strengthen national sustainable finance platforms.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row 0=&#8221;&#8221;][vc_column parallax=&#8221;content-moving&#8221; width=&#8221;1\/6&#8243;][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text 0=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #009de5;\"><strong>About ALIDE<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>ALIDE is the community of financial institutions that generates banking solutions for the development of Latin America and the Caribbean.
