{"id":23665,"date":"2022-10-07T17:47:14","date_gmt":"2022-10-07T17:47:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.alide.org.pe\/?page_id=23665"},"modified":"2023-01-18T17:44:07","modified_gmt":"2023-01-18T17:44:07","slug":"chile-alide-participated-in-the-international-seminar-on-development-financing","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.alide.org.pe\/en\/chile-alide-participated-in-the-international-seminar-on-development-financing\/","title":{"rendered":"Chile: ALIDE participated in the International Seminar on Development Financing"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row 0=&#8221;&#8221;][vc_column 0=&#8221;&#8221;][vc_empty_space 0=&#8221;&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row 0=&#8221;&#8221;][vc_column parallax=&#8221;content-moving&#8221; width=&#8221;1\/6&#8243;][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_images_carousel images=&#8221;23633,23635,23637,23639,23645,23643&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][vc_custom_heading 1=&#8221;Latinoamericana&#8221; 2=&#8221;sobre&#8221; 3=&#8221;Financiamiento&#8221; 4=&#8221;e&#8221; 5=&#8221;Impulso&#8221; 6=&#8221;de&#8221; 7=&#8221;los&#8221; 8=&#8221;Negocios&#8221; 9=&#8221;e&#8221; 10=&#8221;Inversiones&#8221; 11=&#8221;Internacionales&#8220;&#8221; text=&#8221;Chile: ALIDE participated in the International Seminar on Development Financing&#8221; font_container=&#8221;tag:h3|text_align:center|color:%23013c7b&#8221; use_theme_fonts=&#8221;yes&#8221;][vc_column_text 0=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><em>The meeting organized by the Ministry of Economy and the IDB focused on sharing international experiences and the role of public banking in development financing.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"color: #009de5;\"><strong>September 30, 2022- <\/strong><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.alide.org.pe\/\">The Latin American Association of Financial Institutions for Development (ALIDE) <\/a>participated in the \u201cInternational Seminar on Development Financing and the Role of Public Banking\u201d that sought to discuss financial instruments that may allow Chile to conduct a sustainable structural change of its productive matrix.<\/p>\n<p>The event organized by<a href=\"https:\/\/www.economia.gob.cl\/\"> the Ministry of Economy, Development and Tourism of Chile<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iadb.org\/es\">the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB)<\/a> also allowed to learn about relevant experiences in the role of development financing in confronting the climate crisis, developing technologies and promoting innovation.<\/p>\n<p>T<a href=\"https:\/\/www.alide.org.pe\/secretario-general-de-alide\/\">he General Secretary of ALIDE, Edgardo Alvarez,<\/a> participated as moderator of the panel \u00abThe role of development banks in supporting and financing innovation\u00bb, and, during his presentation, he underscored the work of the Government of Chile in creating a new financing system that promotes structural and sustainable changes in the productive matrix.<\/p>\n<p>Along with the representative from ALIDE, <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.iadb.org\/innovacion\/es\/author\/gcrespi\/\">Gustavo Crespi, specialist in Competition, Technology and Innovation at the IDB<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ids.ac.uk\/people\/anabel-marin\/\">Anabel Marin, Research Fellow and Leader of the Business, Markets and the State Cluster at the Institute of Development Studies, Sussex University<\/a> also made presentations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_video link=&#8221;https:\/\/youtu.be\/mgpYi_sldzg&#8221; align=&#8221;center&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #009de5;\"><strong>Investment in Innovation<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>During his presentation, Gustavo Crespi referred to the financing of innovation and pointed out the importance of investing in intangible assets (research and development, training, software, branding) in order to increase productivity and promote sustainable development in the countries of Latin America.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, he shared the article <a href=\"https:\/\/repositorio.uchile.cl\/bitstream\/handle\/2250\/135996\/Heterogeneous-effects-of-financial-constraints-on-innovation.pdf?sequence=1&amp;isAllowed=y\">\u201cHeterogeneous effects of financial constraints on innovation: Evidence from Chile\u201d<\/a> (2015) where, together with Roberto Alvarez, he concluded that there is a serious financing problem in Chile due to the financial restrictions applied mainly to intangible investments focused on innovation.<\/p>\n<p>For her part, Anabel Marin referred to the capabilities and activities that ought to be financed and how innovation is financed.
