Beatriz Freitas chairs BPF\u2019s Board of Directors.\r\n<h2><span style=\"color: #009de5;\">Origin<\/span><\/h2>\r\nThe XXII Constitutional Government Program proposed the establishment of a new financial institution tasked with giving the country\u2019s entrepreneurial ecosystem a financial capacity and accelerating the various existing funding sources for investment in sustainable carbon-neutral and circular economy projects, in line with European orientations.\r\nAs early as June of 2020, the Economic and Social Stabilization Program approved by the Government of Portugal in the context of the response to the difficult economic situation created by the Covid-19 pandemic, deemed it essential to speed up the creation of an institution that would serve as a promotional development bank.\r\n\r\nIt was in this way that the new bank was born with the ambitious mission of \u201cFinancing the Future\u201d and supporting Portugal\u2019s economic and social development through the creation and provision of innovative solutions appropriate to the needs and challenges of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, by upgrading entrepreneurial capacity and creating jobs, and promoting the country\u2019s economic, social and territorial sustainability and cohesion.\r\n<h2><span style=\"color: #009de5;\">Relations and cooperation<\/span><\/h2>\r\nALIDE hailed the establishment of the new BFP, wishing it all success in its new mission of working for Portugal\u2019s economic and social development based on the important experience of its former entities.\r\n\r\nEduardo V\u00e1squez, the Association\u2019s Head of Institutional Relations, stated in this connection that \u201cALIDE wishes to express its complete willingness to collaborate in the framework of Ibero-American integration by sharing experiences with promotional programs for the production and social sectors, sustainable finance, and business cooperation, with a view to internationalizing Ibero-American SMEs.\u201d\r\n\r\nThe Bank\u2019s officers, for their part, thanked ALIDE for its continuous support and collaboration. \u201cTogether, we will build our future, overcome our challenges and lead Portugal further ahead by means of sustainable financing,\u201d Beatriz Freitas wrote in a communiqu\u00e9 sent to the ALIDE General Secretariat.\r\n\r\nMore information about BPF can be found at www.bpfomento.pt.\r\n<h2><span style=\"color: #009de5;\">About ALIDE<\/span><\/h2>\r\nALIDE is the community of financial institutions that generates banking solutions for the development of Latin America and the Caribbean.
