You are cordially invited to attend the Finance in Common Summit, the first-ever global meeting of all Public Development Banks. (By invitation only).
Taking place 12 November 2020 during the Paris Peace Forum, the Finance in Common Summit will stress the crucial role of Public Development Banks both during the global health crisis and in the recovery phase, when it will be essential to help economies advance in the right direction, reconciling short-term stimulus and long-term impacts on nature and societies.
What type of collective action is required to avoid a long recession and make the post-Covid-19 recovery a resilient and sustainable one? How can the 450 Public Development Banks, amounting to 10% of global investment every year, act as a system and serve public priorities? How can they guide and mobilize private finance toward better investments during and after the crisis? These questions will be at the core of the Finance in Common Summit.
Leading up to the Summit, a research conference will be held on 10 November, during which a consortium of prominent academic institutions will share insights about how PDBs can produce better finance over the long term.
The Summit will be organized in the context of the Paris Peace Forum (11-13 November), a high-level multi-stakeholder event putting forward projects and initiatives to tackle global challenges.
To ensure broad and effective engagement with all stakeholders, and considering the consequences of the ongoing crisis, the Summit will deploy an innovative mix of in-person and enhanced digital session formats.
