• Institutional Strengthening: The Association responds to its members’ requests for assistance in modernizing their organizations.
  
  
• Identification of Business Opportunities and Promotion of Projects and Investments: ALIDE collects information continuously about projects financing institutions wish to promote and about the main characteristics of and conditions for the participation of funding sources. This includes the identification and compiling of projects and business opportunities and promotional efforts with financing and investment institutions.
  
  
• Technical Assistance and Development: The Association organizes specialized advisory programs for the preparation of diagnoses and the monitoring of the institutions’ operating processes by holding workshops and seminars and offering in-service training opportunities that enable trainees to interact “in situ” with the very originators and operators of the financial programs and services of development banks.
  
  
• Training: ALIDE offers courses and seminars to improve the knowledge of development institution executives and experts and promotes the exchange of their experiences.
  
  
• Consulting services: The Association also provides quality consulting services to public and private development financing and entrepreneurial development institutions through a broad Network of Experts.
  
  
• Technical Meetings: ALIDE convenes seminars, courses, and roundtables, etc. to collect proposals on and new approaches to the operating policies and to the administration and management of development financing institutions.
  
  
• Studies and Research: The Association prepares systematic analyses using a pragmatic approach to the various aspects of development financing problems which, as important reference material, contribute to the adoption of operational policies and practices and to the design of strategies appropriate to the functions of development banks.
  
  
• Information and Documentation: ALIDE makes bibliographic material and technical documentation available through the Latin American Documentation Center (CEDOM). It is assisted in this effort by the Information Network (RIALIDE), which congregates specialized documentation centers and maintains a broad and dynamic database for regional exchanges and dissemination.
  
  
• Institutional and Technical Publications: The Association promotes, prepares and puts out publications that because of their quality, innovativeness and importance constitute substantial contributions for the benefit of development banking.
  
  
• Electronic Operations and Exchanges: ALIDE holds virtual forums and circulates electronic bulletins, such as E-Banca, Alide Online, and E-News (in English).
  
  
• Alide Web Portal: The Association keeps information about the activities of ALIDE and of its members and about development financing issues up-to-date at www.alide.org.pe
  
  
• It also publishes books and technical literature containing studies, reports and specialized works on development banking.
