ALIDE published a new technical document on the challenges of foreign trade
On February 12th, As part of its production of studies and financial information, ALIDE published the technical document “Challenges of Latin American foreign trade and solutions for the construction of a sustainable financing architecture”.
The document describes and analyzes the landscape of trade worldwide and in Latin America and the Caribbean; the situation of financing for this sector and the role played by national and multilateral development banks. It also presents successful cases of financing for the sector in Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and Colombia.
The document indicates “The regional and national Development Banking continues to deploy its greatest efforts in the provision of trade financing, either directly or intermediating resources through lines of credit aimed at financial entities and foreign trade agencies”.
The document was compiled in the book “Solutions for Resilient Trade Finance Infrastructure”, sponsored by Export-Import Bank of India and presented at the Annual Meeting of the Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (Adfiap), held from February 20th to 22nd in New Delhi, India.
