SWEDISH INNOVATIVE CONCEPTS
Symbiocity and Symbiocare

World environmental crisis due to excessive consumption and natural resources depredation has led the creation of solutions for fighting against pollution and educating society about environment. Besides, it compromises industrialized countries to prepare a production fulfilling environmental standards.

During the seminar "Swedish Export Financing Solutions" hosted in ALIDE headquarter in Lima on September 14th; two new Swedish innovative concepts were introduced: one for promoting a sustainable urban development and the other for incorporating public health treatment. We will see some characteristics.

SymbioCity: urban sustainability
SymbioCity is an environmental project proposing to establish a strategy of renewable energy, energetic efficiency, reduction of CO2 emissions, clean transportation and waste reduction for making our cities sustainable to future and have a better urban planning. For this reason, Sweden is the most innovative European country in environmental issues.

According to figures, CO2 emissions have reduced by 9% since the 90s. Symbiocity controls the combination of urban systems with synergy benefit with which it tries to achieve efficiency and profitability leading to a comprehensive approach and environmental improve. Sustainable energy, water supply and sanitation, waste management and infrastructure design are the topics where particular emphasis is placed. The project tries to identify the synergy among urban functions and to involve public and private sectors thus all social status can be helped.

SymbioCare: Integrated public health
On the other hand, SymbioCare, the medical innovation project promoted by Swedish Trade Council (Exportradet), is focused on topics of health and medicine trying to integrate all interested parties in a sanitary assistance, in a network, for a better use of resulting synergies; hence, all about health has the lowest cost for population.

Besides from being very economic for population, some of the benefits of applying this system are that treatments for all illnesses as well as hospitalizations are of short-terms, making costs lower due to resources optimization. This also includes antibiotic minimum consumption per patient.
