• The platform presents the works and results of the Regional Group for the Development of PPPs.

September 10, 2019.- The Regional Group for the Development of PPPs is an initiative of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and Latin American Association of Development Financing Institutions (ALIDE), driven as a result of the deliberations and the mandate granted to both institutions within the framework of the 46th General Assembly of ALIDE.

The main objective of this work group is to strengthen the role of National Development Banks (NDBs) as instruments for fostering Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects and programs that generate value for the users and taxpayers, by leveraging investments from the private sector in infrastructure.

The IDB and ALIDE convened the first meeting of the group in Washington D.C. on April 30 and May 1, 2019. During this activity, we sought to transform the exchange of knowledge and experiences in concrete action plans. Aside from listening to presentations on the experiences of various national development banks from the region, the participants assessed issues such as financial instruments, the structuring of PPP projects and the development of capabilities.

Recently, and as part of its objectives, the work group has launched a new specialized web platform which will disseminate presentations, reports, audiovisual material and other informative resources related to its area of action.
